September 18, 2012: Transforming the Classroom of Tomorrow

The Hourglass, in partnership with Millersville University’s School of Education present an important forum on embracing change in education.

Embracing change in education - There is no question that education as we know it must change to survive. School expenses are rising far beyond our ability to pay for them.  The State as well as taxpayers are neither willing nor able to come to the rescue.  Add to that, academic performance for many schools is slipping and graduates aren’t adequately prepared for the new work environment.

The schools of tomorrow will look very different.  What is taught, how it’s taught, and where it’s taught is about to change dramatically.  In fact, exciting new changes have already begun.  New methods and technologies to transform our schools to meet tomorrow’s needs were presented by a variety of subject experts.
